Thank you first for taking the time to read this. I was initially planning on launching this on Friday with a video included, but due to the overwhelming response and love I have decided to start early. Instead I will be making short videos showing the pre-, and post- surgery as well as any other relevant content.
About:
Hello, my name is Heberto Espinosa, and my dog, Chamuka, live in New York City. I first had Chamuka as a puppy in Montana where I worked with a defunct vaudville theatre troupe teaching children in theatre workshops. We then relocated to Portland, OR where I taught homeless youth HIV prevention and awareness through film, radio, and live theatre for over three years. As that came to pass we once again moved, this time cross country, to NYC where I am pursuing my M.S.E.d in Special Education. For years I've worked with youth educating to empower themselves and others to live a healthy and sustainable life. Now as the years have gone by my best friend is in need of help.
Chamuka was recently diagnosed with a Mast Cell Tumor in her rear left hind leg. As of date of prognosis the growth was 2.7cm and increasing in size. Although bloodwork shows that all internal organs have not been affected and are working perfectly time is sensitive. The tumor is cancerous and needs to be removed sooner rather than later in order to stop it from spreading. I was reluctant to do the surgery initially, because boxer's as a breed are susceptible to these problems. However, as time has gone by and after recieving a clean bill of health (considering we could both use to lose a few pounds) my thoughts have shifted.
Chamuka not only is my best friend, but the only friend that has been with me from our darkest hours to our brightest days. We have been through homelessness, unemployment, drunken brawls, heartbreak, love, adventure, elation, career changes, and countless Netflix marathons. I often am too proud to ask for help, but this is truly an exception to the rule. Please help me save my best friend, my partner in crime, my ride or die homie, big Mook, Chamuka.
