On August 24, 2014, I rqn the Edmonton Marathon to raise funds to help and assist in the financial needs of Jayden's family. My goal was to raise $10,000 plus, and with your help we just about got there. Thank you one all for your donations. Later this week i will present a check to the family. After the 8% Gofundme charges and the corporate sponsorship, we will have raised about $5,300.00 Thank you one and all.
Jayden Stad (13 years) was always a healthy child who rarely got sick. An avid gamer, the grade 9 student at St. Teresa Middle Catholic School would often walk into a room, and with his wit and intelligence charm his friends and strangers alike. In November 2013 his peers, family, and teachers noticed a shift in demeanour. Followed by daily vomiting, he was taken to the doctors and had CT and MRI scans performed. Young Jayden was diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), a very rare and aggressive brain tumour. With an extremely low survival rate at about 10 to 15 percent, removal of the tumour is generally not possible nor advisable. While currently no cure for DIPG doctors at Emory University School of Medicine observed a 65% decrease in two patients tumours after undergoing radiation followed by taking very expensive medicine.
I have created this page in order to raise funds to help support Jayden and his family. When there family found out about the tumour, Tracy Auclair (Jayden's mother) had to quit her job in order to be with Jayden and give him the extra care he needed. The funds raised will be put towards radiation treatment, alternative medicines, and organic foods to help prolong Jayden's life.
