Interning in South Africa

Hello everyone, and thank you for considering to donate. In just under 8 weeks I will be returning to Cape Town, South Africa to intern with the NGO known as South African Education and Environment Project. Since 2003, SAEP has helped marginalized and displaced peoples within the under-resourced township of Philippi to have access to education/educational resources. Furthermore, its focus has evolved to promote academic and personal development more broadly at all levels of educational development. My role as intern with SAEP will vary within the 6-12 months I will be serving with the organization, and I will perform such tasks as grant writing, fund raising, administrative work, event planning, and so on. Essentially, I will help sustain and keep SAEP running, all the while helping those who are associated with the organization. 

I am asking for you to donate to my initiatives, as I cannot fund myself entirely. Your donations will help me immensely, and they will cover such things as:

- Airfare to/from South Africa
- Monthly rent
- Living/food expenses 
- Traveling within South Africa to the Eastern Cape

Furthermore, I will donate 5% of all donations to the South African Education and Environment Project upon my arrival and start of the internship. 

To add to my fundraising efforts, I will also be holding a voice recital in either Burlington or Elkhorn, WI on Saturday, August 23.
