Getting Kasey to the Mayo Pain Program

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Amy. My daughter is Kasey. Kasey has had digestive issues ever since she was nine years old. She is currently being seen by a wonderful team of doctors at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansa City. Dr. Friesen is the doctor that has been treating her for gastrointestinalesonophilia for the last five years.
While I am pleased to report that after ten colonoscopies/endoscopies her digestive system has finally become manageable I am unhappy to report that she has copius amounts of nerve pain and damage. Her once perfect vision has deterioated, and her hands and feet shake without several medications daily to keep her tremor free. We don't know why.
Kasey has turned 19 and her doctors think that the Mayo Pain Management Program is the best option for her, as no pain medications are currently able to withstand her body's growing immunity. As a last resort they have put her on methadone for pain management - to no avail. She is currently detoxing as the perscripted amount had become toxic to her system and was no longer able to mange her discomfort.
Kasey has deteriorated over the years, going from an athletic, active child to a sometimes-bedridden adult. Regardless of the grim health outlooks which grew darker as she aged, Kasey remains ambitious. She graduated with honors from high school, despite missing over half of each semester by being admitted into the hospital. She is currently a sophomore in college, studying in an excellerated degree program to be a pharmacist.
My husband and I are both well educated and have full time jobs, my husband actually works two jobs to help support Kasey's assorted medical expenses, and we have unfortnately only barely been managing to stay afloat.
While the trip to Mayo is necessary, I honestly don't know how we can do it. My therapist suggested this website to me and I am uncomfortable asking for help, but I don't know what else to do. We are already maxed on credit cards and personal loans used for her other medical expenses.
Any money donated to us for this trip would be for transportation costs, hotel costs for the three week stay and food. There are reasonable hotels with kitchenettes so that I can cook her food instead of fast food (which she cannot eat anyway). If you are even considering donating to my cause I want to sincerely thank you. I will keep this profile open and post about our trip with a link to a facebook page containing additional information about our situation and assorted photos from previous medical trips.
