Ever have that moment in your life when you want to grab it by the lemons and squeeze it for all it's got? Well, I am at that point. I am a single mom who has faced the ups and downs life has given me with a smile on my face. Recently, my car literally fell apart. Old reliable just had enough and the spindle broke while I was driving (thank God there were no injuries.) As scary as it was, I dealt with it in the only way I could, letting her rest in pieces at the local wrecking yard. I can't believe I'm saying it, but I drove that old girl till the wheels fell off!
I had not realized how much I relied on my vehicle until a 30 minute hike to the grocery store left me and my children cranky and exhuasted, and dreading the 30 minutes back home with only a third of what we need due to lack of space. Anybody familiar with juggling a box of jumbo diapers and 2 gallons of milk while navigating a borrowed double stroller knows my frustration! With temperatures inching towards 100 degrees and the rainy season starting up in a few months, my family and I would appreciate any help you are willing to give us in becoming independent again. I no longer have the resources to purchase a vehicle on my own, my toddlers have been missing preschool, and the bus system causes me to be away from them much longer than needed while I work.
I'm not asking for the latest and greatest, just another old reliable to get us through the tough times.
