In recent tragic events, one of our veteran officers was murdered by a suspect with an AK-47, as he responded to a call for service. The vests we are issued to go to work every day, only stop handgun rounds.
There is a company called mtekweaponsystems.com who make armor plates that will fit in our vests that stop rifle rounds. However these plates are approximately $365 dollars (8x10) and we need one for the front and back of the vest. These plates get even more expensive after tax and shipping.
Please help me raise money for these plates for myself and the rest of the officers on my shift. I know the job we signed up has dangers and can even result in death, but I have been to three in the line of duty funerals in the last five years and they have all been shot and killed by criminals.
Please help me and my fellow officers go home to ourfamilies at the end of every one of their shifts.
