Justice for Louie

Update on Louie 3/31: He has a high fever and an infection. I had to take him back to ER vet. Now looking at an additional $1,900 or more in medical expenses.

Hi, my name is Lauren, the owner of Louie the Miniature Dachshund.

 

Louie and I were attacked on Sunday by my neighbor's dog. She had the dog tied up to the outside fence of our dog park, while she stood on the inside of the park.

 

As I slowly approached the yard, her dog's collar broke and he went straight for Louie. He bit down on Louie's shoulder and continuously snapped at him. The owner did come to help but continued to lose control of her dog. I finally grabbed Louie and held onto him as tight as I could, fighting for his life and my life. I suffered injuries, as did he. It took 6 people to get the dog off of us.

 

Louie ended up needing ER care, received stitches, antibiotics, and anti-inflammatories. I ended up with a concussion and scratches that broke the skin all over my stomach, legs and arms.

 

I just want justice for Louie, and for the owner to be held responsible. I hope that anyone reading this can find it in their heart to help us offset these unexpected medical costs.
