Running over Epilepsy

Donation protected
On my husband's birthday he decided what better thing to do at thirty years young than to sign up and run his first marathon. Right??? While I haven't the same desire, I am just floored by his endless drive and determination to reach this feat. I've watched him go from our couch to running upwards of 16+ mile runs in just a few months, but what is most inspiring is that this desire roots from his wish to remain healthy for himself, for his wife, and for our family. To show our son an example of setting and accomplishing a goal through faith, sweat, and hard work- mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. To teach Brent, and to remind himself and others, just how precious our health truly is. How blessed we are with each stride we can run/walk. While not all of us have marathons in our future, we all have our own Everest(s) to climb, and at one point my husband's health was in fact his Everest. For you see, my husband is a cancer survivor of 10+ years. PTL!!! His daily running springs hope into the lives of so many who have sat in his shoes and heard that it was time to lace up your shoes and start running the race and fighting. Each of his runs are triumphant, and his current health is a blessing/testimony to our Utmost Healer. While his race in September isn't being run for anything, Joshua decided he, himself, desired to run for something, for so many others, for our own son. Brent, now nearly three, was diagnosed at the age of six months with epilepsy. Summoned at that precious young age to live life daily as a warrior- big, brave and bold against his disease. We, his parents, are thankful EACH and EVERY day for Brent's health and for his safety, and we'd like to use Josh's marathon to help raise awareness for all childhood illnesses and to spread our message of love and hope to all. We'd love if you'd prayerfully come beside us and help us in raising money for a safe haven very close to our own hearts and one that has provided a place of safety, love, and healing for so many young ones, including our own Brent. That beautiful haven is Stormhaven Youth Ranch in Shelbyville, Kentucky. Founded and run by Josh's precious parents, Mike and Gaye Cox, this beautiful ranch faithfully opens its gates weekly to children of all backgrounds and provides a place of endless joy and healing. This nonprofit runs by the faithful support of others and as one of its biggest fans, we'd love to come behind them and help to provide more future smiles, like the endless one we see on our son's face as he romps around hugging "his" horses and feeding them/eating the hay. We are so grateful for all of your love and we welcome your continued prayers/support as our Joshua continues forward on this road to his first marathon. We are so grateful for his health, his courage, his strength, and his faithful determination with this AWESOME feat. Run, Joshua, Run!!!!!
