On March 16th we made the very difficult decision to close our doors. While take-out was an option, the risk to our staff and the public was just too much. With no restaurant to operate, we had to lay off our entire staff. The suddenness of all this has been a jarring experience. Financially and mentally, it has hit all of us very hard.
The team all wants to work. The cooks all want to be in the kitchen preparing delicious meals. Our service staff wants to get back to the floor to take care of our clientele with our own brand of hospitality. The whole staff wants to see our patrons' faces, catch up, and give everyone that authentic Bistrot La Minette experience. Mostly what is missed is the moment that the diners don't get to see, like staff meal, joking around on the line, cleaning up and the beers we drink with each other at the end of the night. Bistrot La Minette's staff is a tight knit group. Until now, a lot of us saw more of our coworkers than we did our own family or friends. We want to be back together again.
For most of our team, this job is the only source of income. We are hoping to collect enough to fund our employees through a month loss of income and bridge the gap between now and whenever government aid may arrive. 100% of funds will go directly to employees.
