Hello friends. A small but very exciting post to introduce you to a new town museum for everyone.
We are currently a community volunteer group but we hope to become a charity in the near future, and it’s home will be a place to share and preserve memories & history and teach our younger generations about our great town. It will encompass all areas of our town’s history; people, architecture, mining, industry, transportation, farming, armed forces, retail.
The museum will incorporate a brand new Heritage Walk in the town and Bishop Auckland Remembrance Garden.
We can proudly say the new museum will be in an unused area in our fine Hippodrome on Railway Street. Grateful thanks go out to Majestic Bingo for their interest and help in securing a home
