Birthworker training for Woman of Color
Dyese Najuma Osaze is an anthropology graduate from The College of Wooster. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Dyese originally set out to become an OB/GYN but in light of the current pandemic, she had the ability to tap into her creativity, spirituality, and has found her true calling as a rising Black midwife. Dyese is here to serve her community who is disproportionally affected by high rates of maternal and infant mortality. She has gained some birth experience via shadowing doctors and midwives in the hospital setting. Although Dyese is not yet certified through a specified doula program, she is eager to propel her career forward and begin training as a labor and postpartum doula starting February 1st, 2021. The cost of the Shafia Monroe Consulting (SMC) Full Circle Doula Birth Companion Online training is $1027.
It is her dream to ultimately offer either homebirth midwifery services or services at a free-standing birth center for low-risk mothers
