Birthday Fundraiser to build a Earthship in Haiti.

This year for my 35th birthday I am building an autonomous school in Haiti. I'll work with the non-profit organization, Earthship Biotecture and their local partnership in Haiti to learn, teach and build a school.
During my time this year building a community center in Puerto Rico, I was incredibly inspired to be part of a group of individuals that all have a common goal, to build and learn about sustainable practices and create beautiful safe spaces that can be utilized for generations.
For this build, I will be learning how to construct the school from the foundation up. As I learn more about becoming a better sustainable designer and builder my plan is to someday build my own autonomous off grid spaces and continue to help others to do the same. I believe we can have a future that can be localized and community sufficient. Imagine that!
This donation will go to sponsor local adults to learn how to build and buy materials for the build which is also my tuition. This project would not be possible without the volunteer contributions which is why Im asking for this gift.
Greater Good International first started an education program in Haiti in 2011, teaching over 30 children and providing one meal per day for them, without any real classrooms. Since then, the school has been needing new classrooms to be able to expand the program further and make a difference in the future of these children and their families.
We will be building four classrooms with toilets and showers, creating a fully autonomous school that – uses garbage for insulating and building – keeps cool even when it is hot outside – captures and filters rain water for washing and drinking – uses solar energy for electricity – treats waste water in a contained and environmentally friendly way – grows fruit and vegetables for the children to eat
I left last year on my birthday to start this transformative journey and to learn how to become a better steward to planet our planet and mother nature. I am full of gratitude for what this year has brought me and any support you can give.
