I'm heading to Canada!!

Hi I'm Indigo, an aspiring wildlife and landscape photographer.

I've launched this birthday fundraiser to assist my travel in Canada and Alaska. As most of you know I generally travel the more affordable Continent of Asia, but since covid I found the day to day living costs had increased there dramatically. So this year I have decided to be brave and venture somewhere I have always dreamt of travelling- CANADA.

 A few months ago I invested a large amount in a camera and lens (second hand) for wildlife photography. I'm fortunate that living in a van allows me to be in the field honing my skills daily in preparation for capturing wildlife and landscapes in Canada.

This journey will be so different to my usual ones where I just travel with carry on luggage and often just go with the flow. Being a country filled with predatory wildlife and a much colder climate, means hitchhiking may not be as possible in a lot of regions to keep costs down. Camping will look a lot different to how it does for me here in Australia as well.

As I will be travelling with thousands of dollars of camera equipment (and thats the second hand price), I would love to be able to rent a car in bursts during my 6 weeks over there. I am aiming for at least 2 weeks of the 6 weeks, more if possible and I would love your help with this.

I will have covered the costs of all flights and have some savings left for some key tours I would love to do (like the potential to witness icebergs calving, amongst other mind blowing natural wonders of the more arctic worlds) and have jumped on some sites similar to couchsurfing, host a sister and the likes in the hope of finding affordable or accomodation with an exchange that isn't always financial. But some of the regions I will be exploring are far from any people hosting guests. 

So I have created this fundraiser to assist with costs towards accomodation( Camping $25/night, hostel $40 upwards/night), car hire (varies from $37-110/day- obviously i will find the greatest bargain possible!), a decent 4 season sleeping bag($300+) and a pair of merino thermals($160-250). Every cent makes a difference, no matter how great or small and it all helps towards helping my journey feel more nourishing, safe and soul enriching.

For anyone who donates $30 or above you are welcome to select any of my photos with 2-3 editted options in exchange for your incredible aid. $50 and above you will be offered over 5 different edits of 2 photos of your choosing.
