Hello everyone my name is Birgit Tol, up until a few years ago I was living a full healthy and happy life working as a nurse, I also enjoyed playing guitar and drums and walking on the beach with my beautiful dog. Then the unexpected happened,
Two of the discs in my neck suddenly collapsed causing severe damage to the nerves in my spine, leaving me unable to walk. I have had an emergency surgery and spent 6 months in hospital to recover. I am now using a wheelchair, I have lost the abilty to do the simple things in day to day life, unable to walk more than a few short steps. I am facing a massive challenge to try my best to walk again and have a decent quality of life.
I started this campaign to appeal for help to make this happen, I would use the money raised to continue physiotheraphy in a specialized centre. My dream is to be able to walk again, to be able to live more freely and independently and be well enough to bring my dog back home and look after us both.
It would also enable me to get the best supplements and medications possible to speed up healing, and in the case that I am not fully independent it will then help me to adapt my home and get the physical aids that I need to move more freely while travelling outdoors.
Any support you could offer, any donations big or small would make a hugely positive impact on my life to help me make those changes and to get the help I need.
