BIPOC Caucus

Donation protected

During this incredible time of racial tension, social unrest, and a global pandemic many of our country's shortcomings are rising to the surface. Tensions that reveal a disproportionate level of equity, opportunity, and safety for the Black lives and Indigenous lives, and People of Color. Through this process, it is necessary for BIPOC to heal and create Joy on this long journey move through the outdated white supremacist models of living and being into one of true equity and compassion.

Ashnie and Cheryl have stepped into this vital role as healer and facilitators of joy in the BIPOC community, free of charge. The intention behind not charging BIPOC for this work is to bring into consciousness the intimate relationship between capitalism and systemic racial oppression. But the economic reality is still very real. So, we decided our best option would be to tap into the compassion of our communities and invite those who feel moved to donate to do so. This will help ensure Ashnie and Cheryl can continue to hold these much needed spaces without placing a heavy financial burden on them and the BIPOC community.

We invite you to support the healing of and resourcing for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. The harm and trauma BIPOC communities have endured from the forces of White Supremacy and internalized racism are devastating to the health and well-being of bodies of culture.

Ashnie and Cheryl are gifted healing practitioners of color and skilled Theatre of the Oppressed facilitators, who have come together in service of helping our communities thrive. We invite you to support this powerful work and the movement to transform race.

Contributions from this campaign will be used to support future BIPOC caucuses, other BIPOC healing spaces, and any labor/expenses Cheryl and Ashnie took on. Additionally, some of the funds will be used to support the ongoing work of Rev. angel Kyodo Williams and the Great Radical Race Read as well as GirlTrek.
