Unlike existing services, we don't require that someone falls into crisis or has an eviction letter already before we assist them. We don't gatekeep resources—we try to prevent traumatic and violent evictions from happening at all. That means your contribution may be spent on rent, late fees, eviction legal fees, security deposits, moving expenses, groceries, medical expenses, and anything else that our assistees determine they need in order to stay stable and housed.
"Black and Brown Americans — the very people who are more likely to succumb to coronavirus or lose their jobs because of it — are disproportionately on the brink of also losing the four walls that public health officials have repeatedly told everyone to hide behind, according to a Center for Public Integrity analysis of more than 8,000 eviction filings."*
This team of fundraisers works under the leadership of BLM Louisville organizers at Reparations Roundtable. My name is Ethan Paul; I will be withdrawing the funds which will be dispersed to our assistees under the direction of Black organizers. The funds will be dispersed as they come in and as they're requested by assistees through online payment apps like PayPal, CashApp, and Venmo. If you need assistance, please reach out to us on Facebook.
