Bionic Biker Chick!

Donation protected
Lizzie was born missing left forearm and hand, as a 4.5year old girl Lizzie was the first person to be fitted on the NHS with a myo-electric arm (battery and muscle operated). After 40 years of using this she has ‘single handily’ brought up her three children and faced many adversities due to her difference.
Lizzie’s children are now grown up, she is now setting herself challenges that many others would consider simple to achieve.
Her ambition in life has been to ride a motorcycle, to show other people this is achievable with similar differences, since starting this journey Lizzie has been up against many obstacles. The main one being the lack of progressive technology with the NHS arm. Lizzie has been a ‘tester’ for different arms for the NHS over many years and recently was given a ‘Be-bionic’ arm to see and test in the waiting room, to be told ‘this isn’t available unless you are military personnel’, she then had to hand it back after trying for 15 minutes,
Lizzie said “this arm would change my life!” And left in tears.
Lizzies goal is to raise funds to buy herself a fully functional hand and arm to help pass her bike test and live a ‘normal life’ and to continue to help others in similar situations achieve the seemingly impossible.
Not only has Lizzie lived her life without her left hand and arm she also sustained a serious injury to her right thumb, having 8 plastic surgery proceedings and nearly losing her right hand but with a positive outlook and fight she managed to relearn & regain strength and movement in her right (only) hand.

Lizzie is asking for donations to help her fulfill her ambitions and to help others as many Parents and Children already look to Lizzie for advice and inspiration.

Once Lizzie has reached her goal she will continue to champion charity for others.

Every donation no matter how large or small will be greatly received.

Lizzie will post links to her Instagram and Facebook page on how she’s progressing in her achievements.

Lizzie has passed her CBT training on a motorbike and is working towards a motorcycle full license and this fully functional arm will help her achieve this and other daily life tasks.

Thankyou ❤️
