Hello everyone and thank you for taking the time to read our request to help Binky's Vapes of Lanham Maryland restart our business after the COVID-19 shut down. I am the owner Beatrice Foster, mother, grandmother, veteran, wife, sister, daughter.......
OUR HISTORY
Binky's Vapes was started because vaping helped us to quit smoking and to provide the education and training to go along with vaping. We were not finding the two in the shops visited locally. We wanted to make sure we actually providing a service to our customers. That was October 2014, today we run the risk of losing in a slow death from outside forces.
We are located 10539 Greenbelt RD, Lanham MD 20706
OUR NEED
We need funds as maryland prepares to reopen our state. Our operating expenses will keep our doors open as everyone settle in to the new normal, maintain our business, help our employees recover from a loss of income. We understand it will take some time to recover from the losses. It took us 7 months to recover from the 2019 vape scare. COVID is different, we had no revenue.
• Operating expense for 6 months
• Additional funds to help employees recover
• Restock Inventory
• Pay outstanding bills
• Restart Advertisements (YELP & Google)
• Stock mask and hand sanitizer (for employees and customers)
WHAT WE HAVE HAVE DONE - many have asked
SBA PPP: received on second round of funding 11,000,
SBA EIDL: received 3,000 all additional funds are for agricultural business only
SBA Express Bridge: connected to the EIDL to receive funds ahead of EIDL approval
Maryland Small Business COVID-19 Emergency Relief Grant Fund: Submitted 26 March. Response 21 May: Unfortunately, our grant funds have been exhausted and we are unable to provide you with financial support at this time
Michael Jordan Fund: Not qualified this is the same as the SBA PPP you can only receive one
Business Loans: No revenue not qualified
Employee tax deferment: Not qualified if you received PPP
NAV Business grant submission 24 May
OUR BATTLE
We were just in the light of recovering from the vape scare of 2019 . Our sales had dropped 50% in the fourth quarter. Finally after all the test, scientific information, our fight on the hill, our continued fight in our state and the determination of the actual cause, we were turning the corner. Vape flavors and the intent of vaping was not the cause.
Just as we were seeing the light of day CORONA shut us down we loss the gain we had worked and fought so hard to obtain. My employees suffered because of the loss in revenue in 2019 I had to cut their hours, then not to have an income at all was heartbreaking for me.
We also lost our major liquid provider and manufacturer in NY. Dynamic Creations in NY manufactured Binky's Vapes house liquid lines of over 20 flavors, our biggest lost.

Here I am with my son and my first employee. He left the Navy to help in the business. I am retired Army. I want to teach my son to fend for himself. I want to keep him alive and not killed in a foreign land. I want him to grow with the business from the beginning so he can take over and make it his own. Help me do that
