Billy's medical and living expenses

Sunday, December 31st, my uncle, Billy Steuerwald, was having trouble breathing. He and his wife Sally went to the Othello clinic and soon they were being transported by ambulance to Kadlec hospital in Richland. Billy was admitted to ICU and diagnosed with Leukemia. By 1:00 AM on January 1, he was fighting for his life. As of Friday, January 5, Billy has been on a breathing tube, feeding tube, kidney dialysis, received three leukaphersis treatments and received low-dose chemo while the doctors wait for bone marrow results to identify the type of leukemia that is attacking his system. Once again, cancer is trying to take a precious life.
Unfortunatly, Billy is also fighting a virus which makes it even more difficult for him to have the strength to breath on his own. After a short trial the attempt to remove the breathing tube failed. The medical staff are not able to predict how long he will be in the hospital but several weeks is expected.
Billy has health insurance through his employer. But without working he has limited sick leave and vacation hours to generate income to pay their medical premiums. Sally isn't able to work as she stays with Billy 24/7. The out-of-pocket expenses related to this level of health crisis are daunting. Coupled with the loss of income for both Billy and Sally and trying to pay monthly expenses you now have both a health and financial crisis.
We are not powerless or without hope. We can pray that God and the medical professionals will solve the health crisis; and we can help with their financial crisis that will continue for many months.
Both Billy and Sally have worked hard all thier lives. Billy has worked many years for Bud Clary Automotive and Sally for Walmart. Please consider giving to whatever level you can.
