Billy vs. Lymphoma Returns

Just over three years ago, Billy Harris took on a battle against Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and with the help of friends, family, and his medical team, he kicked cancer’s butt! To those of you who know Billy, this of course is no surprise, but cancer didn’t like being beaten. You see, about two weeks ago, Billy started to notice something wasn’t right cognitively. He was frequently losing his balance, had trouble remembering and started experiencing some pretty severe headaches. While it would have been far better to chalk this up to pushing 50 or sharing a few too many with his pals, the crushing reality is, the Lymphoma he bravely fought has spread to his brain. Yes, cancer thinks it has the upper hand, but to those of us who answered the Team Billy call three years ago, we know better. Let’s answer the call again and help Billy and his family prepare for battle.

 

Billy has already begun his first round of chemotherapy which is scheduled for every two weeks until the end of November. Then he moves on to a different round of chemo and then a stem cell transplant at the end of December. As you can imagine, Billy’s immune system will be seriously compromised with this aggressive schedule and with COVID still being a real concern, Billy, Carly, and the kids will need to be fairly isolated from their community. Carly will be taking leave from her job to home school the kids and support Billy for the next four to five months.

 

Once again, we are asking his friends near and far to help reduce the burden associated with this horrible disease by making a donation towards supporting the Harris family. It’s going to be a scary and lonely time for them. Let’s show them that although we can’t be there for them in person, we can help financially with what ever they need to do to bring happiness into the home and keep Billy safe while he recovers.
