Billy Daniel's fight

Billy Daniel - some of you may know and remember him as your high school buddy, or the guy you played basketball with in the evenings at Gephart, or your co-worker at US Borax. You might remember how he was always the first to the party and the last to leave. He’s probably made you laugh with some quick, witty comment. You might know that some of his favorite things have always been rock and roll, the union and everything about the desert. To us, he’s Dad.

A couple of months ago, he was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of lymphoma. This cancer is rarely ever seen in our country. Because of the aggressiveness of the tumor and the rarity of the disease- he was immediately sent to specialists at the City of Hope. The treatment he must go through is not standard and has required traveling and staying far from home. In addition to the cost of copays and medical care, this has already meant many long trips back and forth as well as extended stays in motels.

Though it feels like such a long time already, we are still at the beginning of this long journey. The doctors have re-iterated that we have only one chance to get this right. Initial treatment plan of intense chemo and radiation therapies are expected to last several more months.

He probably wouldn’t approve of us starting this Go Fund Me or sharing his personal business, but we anticipate that he will need more help than we can give.
