Operation: Get My Life Back

My name is Bill Terwey and if you know me well, you know what i’m about to ask you for is very hard for me. I’m in some pretty serious legal trouble and I have put all I have financially into hiring a lawyer to defend me. I’m potentially looking at up to 5 years in jail for something, that although I am responsible for, it seems to me, to be a big misunderstanding.
Let me explain to you what has me in a position to not be able to help myself. Many of you that know me, probably don’t know that I have been diagnosed with major depression. It has been such an obstacle for me that it literally had taken over my life. So you can better understand my situation here is a quick run down of the issues that I have been dealing with the last year and a half:
In January of 2016, a business that I loved, and ran for 10 years, closed its doors because I couldn't afford to keep it open.
I never truly dealt with my divorce, and I kept those issues tucked inside.
Because I had no steady income, I lost my car And only means of transportation to a repossession.
My house went into foreclosure and recently was sold at a Sheriff's auction. I will need to find a new place to live coming up in the near future.
Because I want the best for my children, I had to let them go stay with their mother full-time recently. I don't have the money, currently, to care for them the way they deserve.
While all this was happening my depression was taking control of me. For almost a year-and-a-half I hadn't left my house except to get food, or to go see my kids. Friends and family that I love dearly, I avoided because in my head, I was becoming a burden to them.
Everything was eating away at me. But having to give up my kids was the final straw, and I had decided to give up. I had hit such a low, that let's just say, I'm lucky to be alive today. Thanks to a couple of friends, I was checked into a mental health facility for two weeks to work out my problems, and receive medication that changed the way my life was going. I want to live. I want to succeed. I'm determined to take my life back. I know I created a huge hole for me to dig out of, but with your help I know I can do it.
The reason i'm asking for $3,500 is that is what I will need to keep my head above water while I deal with my legal troubles. The actual total cost I'm paying my attorney is $5,000, but I was told I would have time to pay the rest as the case moves forward. I'm sorry to be in a situation that requires me to ask for so much, but I truly need your help. It is probably unrealistic to promise to pay back what I happen to generate through this campaign. I can however, promise you that I will pay your kindness forward. Honestly, any amount you can offer to assist me would be much appreciated. It will go a long way towards getting my life back, my children back, and my dignity back as well. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Wish me luck.
