Bill Dennard Glassell Remembrance
Donation protected
Bill Dennard was the Head of the Ceramics Department at Glassell School of Art for nearly three decades. Students found him a generous soul devoted not only to teaching us but coaxing and guiding us to be better ceramicists. He was also a good friend. He left us all to soon in 2003. Students, friends, fellow artists and family of Bill Dennard would like to permanently honor his indelible impact on ceramicists and ceramics education in Houston.
The new Glassell School of Art opening in May will feature a glass block wall built from recovered brick from the old school where Bill taught. We have the opportunity to install one of these glass bricks in a lasting tribute of Bill's efforts molding so many of us. I have started this site to help all of us influenced by Bill's tutelage to contribute.
This is an example of the Rememberence Block. Bill's name will become an integral part of the new Brown Foundation Plaza Wall next to the Cullen Sculpture Garden. Proceedes of this fund raiser go to the new Glassell School of Art.
