Hi out there,
I doubt you folks have heard, but on 7/30 Billy had a traumatic event occur in Charlestown late that Tuesday nite, and has been at MGH since. The event circumstances are bizarre in that Billy does not know what happened, but the end results are:
-his front right leg was severely mangled
-he nearly bled to death
-they almost amputated the leg
-he has had 6 surgeries, more coming
-MGH has never had such a surgery involving as much skin grafts, so medically this has been a first of its kind, if not for MGH, the leg would be gone
-no one knows how it happened, including Billy (short term memory loss, loss of blood, shock, etc)
-the only possession Billy had was his cell phone, so he was admitted as John Doe
-due to this, Sue was unaware for close to a week
-he is much improved, long road ahead, MGH looking to move him to Rehab next week.
All of his medical bills are covered for now but he will need help with the recovery.
