<div>I’ll keep this short and sweet. Scott is currently hospitalized at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, for testing and treatment for bilateral limbic encephalitis. In short, he’s had some seizures that wiped out his memory. It’s like his brain resets every 30 seconds. He has severe brain damage and this memory loss may be the new normal for us. He’s unable to work, to say the least. He will need months, possibly years of rehab to recover. I have rent due in 2 days and zero ability to pay it. One of my amazing work benefits is critical illness insurance and supplemental hospital indemnity coverage but because I am a new employer at my job, Aflac doesn’t have me in their system yet and it could take 2 weeks before I can file a claim. I have very little cash right now and bills to pay. I need to fix my car so it can pass inspection (needs a new windshield - unrelated to recent accident). I am begging my friends and family once again for help. I’m desperate. Eventually I’ll have money from my benefits but I need to file and claim once I’m in the system and pray they approve it. We’re on the hook for 10% of Scott’s medical expenses. I have rent and bills to pay. I need money desperately and I need it soon. I hate to beg, believe me when I say I hate this. It’s embarrassing and it’s humiliating to admit we don’t have what we need to survive. Anything you can spare to help me keep things going so we can focus on Scott’s recovery would be greatly appreciated with all my heart. If you want to lend us money and I pay you back once Aflac pays that can be arranged. I don’t want to get evicted. I need the power to stay on and food to eat. I need car repairs. I know I’m asking a lot but I don’t have a choice. Thank you for your prayers, your support and all the love and caring you’ve shown my husband and I during this hell on earth time in our lives.
