Dear reader,
My name is Ivar Scheers and I am the Political Secretary at the Netherlands Embassy in Serbia and in Montenegro.
From Saturday 30 April to Thursday 12 May I will bike from my hometown The Hague in the Netherlands to Belgrade, in an effort to raise funds for the Serbian organisation Nurdor. In order to this, I am asking you for your help.
Nurdor provides relief in the lives of children with cancer and their loved ones by providing practical, emotional and financial support. It a national association of parents whose children are suffering or have suffered from cancer, and consists of parents, doctors, medical staff and volunteers. The organisation is fully dependent on gifts from individuals and organisations. The dedication of people behind Nurdor and the sparks of light they manage to bring in the lives sick children is inspiring and deserves every possible support.
In March 2015 the team of our Embassy visited one of the Nurdor houses in Belgrade and provided the Nurdor house with playground equipment for the garden, decorations, bookshelves and books, as well as apple trees for the terrace. In May 2015 I attempted a bike trip from The Hague to Belgrade, which unfortunately was cut short due to injury. As part of the trip I made a 60.000 RSD donation to Nurdor, which the organisation used to buy new hospital beds for the children.
The renewed journey this year will last 13 days, with a calculated route of 2038 kilometer and go through six countries: the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Croatia and finally Serbia.
By setting up this fundraiser I hope we can gather even more support for Nurdor than last year - since every little bit of support for the organisation makes a huge difference in the lives of the children that they take care of.
Anyone who would like to contribute to this fundraising effort is invited to do so. On behalf of myself and the people of Nurdor, I express our enormous gratefulness for every contribution.
The total amount of fundraised means will be used to make sure that Nurdor Srbija can continue its work to provide the best possible care to children suffering from cancer, as well as enabling families to overcome the often long and painful treatment of their children.
After completing the fundraising effort I will give - on this webpage - full disclosure of the raised amount and on what it will be spend by Nurdor. Of the total amount of money raised GoFundMe will keep 5% according to their conditions.

Moje ime je Ivar Scheers i ja sam politicki sekretar u Ambasadi Holandije u Srbiji i Crnoj Gori.
Od subote 30 aprila do cetvrtka 12 maja 2016 putovacu biciklom od mog rodnog grada Haga u Holandiji do Beograda u zelji da prikupim fond pomoci za organizaciju NURDOR iz Srbije. Za to mi je potrebna i vasa pomoc.
NURDOR nudi olaksanje oboleloj deci i njihovim najblizim kao i prakticnu emocionalnu i materijalnu pomoc. To je nacionalno udruzenje roditelja cija deca boluju ili su bolovala od raka a cine je roditelji, lekari i drugo medicinsko osoblje, teraputi a svi su volonteri. Organizacija u potpunosti zavisi od donacija i poklona koji dolaze od pojedinaca ili drugih organizacija. Posvecenoct ljudi iz NURDORa u zivote ove dece donosi posebno svetlo i zasluzuje svaku paznju i pomoc.
U martu 2015 tim nase Ambasade posetio je jednu od NURDORovih roditeljskih kuca i opremio decije igraliste, zasadio sadnice u vrtu, cvece i jabukova stabla, postavio police za knjige i druge ukrase. Ja sam sa svoje strane u maju 2015 nameravao da putujem od Haga do Beograda biciklom, ali sam, na zalost zbog povrede morao da prekinem putovanje. U znak tog zapocetog a nedovrsenog putovanja donirao sam NURDORu 60.000 dinara koji su iskorisceni za nabavku specijanog kreveta za deciju bolnicu.
Ovogodisnje obnovljeno putovanje trajace 13 dana i podrazumeva voznju bicikla na ruti dugoj 2038 kilometara kroz sest zemalja – Holandiju, Nemacku, Austriju, Madjarsku, Hrvatsku i na kraju kroz Srbiju.
Nadam se da prikupljanje ovih sredstava moze pruziti NURDORu vise pomoci nego prosle godine – jer, svaka i najmanja pomoc njima je dragocena i znacajno menja zivote dece o kojima oni brinu.
Svako ko zeli da pomogne dobro je dosao. U svoje i ime NURDORa izrazavam ogromnu zahvalnost za svaku donaciju.
Ukupan iznos sredstava bice doniran NURDORu kako bi nastavio svoj rad i pruzio najbolju mogucu negu deci kao i pomoc njihovim roditeljima da izdrze dugotrajne i mukotrpne terapije kroz koje prolaze njihova deca.
Po zavrsetku ove akcije, na ovom sajtu mocicete da se obavestite o visini donacije kao i za sta je upotrebljena.
