Bikes for kids Drive 2017

Third Update - looks like campaign will end on Saturday December 9. Big thanks for everyone’s generous donations. $1750 in a couple days is amazing. Boosting the goal to $2017 to reflect our current year. Negotiated an extra reduced price on bikes with toys r us as we will be buying in bulk for charity. All I had to do was call and they were in. Please consider giving - we are going to do good work here.

Second update - I’m humbled at your generosity. I can’t help but push our goal. In speaking with our donors I can’t help but echo the sentiments around the freedom that bikes provided us as children. We will begin purchasing kits In the morning but hope you share this drive as we push. Right now we are forecasting 10-15 bikes - can you help us get to 20? Please share with your friends! Don’t be distracted by the goal. Give what you can. We want to be Santa’s elves building into the wee hours. All my best friends!

Wow - thanks for the amazing support so far. People have asked which charity this is associated with. At work I saw a poster for Project Self-Sufficiency holiday bike drive in Huntington Beach. After checking up on the charity it seemed legit and so I jumped in. Every nickel we raise in this drive will go toward the purchase of bikes for kids, with a delivery date of midweek next week. Please help fund this effort so we can max out on bike donations for kids! I've also upped our goal.

Hi All, this year we have an opportunity to give bikes to local kids as part of a charity outreach. Given the upcoming birthday and Christmas, I’m asking that you redirect any funds you thought of spending on me to this effort. Or if you remember how important a bike was to your freedom as a kid that you chip in a couple bucks.
As we are giving bikes and not money to the charity you can feel good that your hard earned cash is going directly to a child that could use a bike. I hope you consider donating so we can build as many bikes as possible for the kids.
