Bike Repair Class for Youth in NYC

Donation protected
Royal Light International (Keith Craig Allen Founder) & the Bike Shop at St. Albans Mini Mall (Ron Griffith, Owner) have joined forces to serve inner-city youth in NYC's lower-income communities by teaching students how to become Certified Bike Mechanics. This trade is
in demand internationally and serves underprivileged communities worldwide.   Through this program, our youth can earn the income they need to survive in an expensive place like NYC.  They can also save money for themselves and their families by doing their own bike repairs.

The donations will go towards providing Bike Repair Classes, Bikes and Jobs for the Youth.  The youth in NYC will tremendously benefit from this program which provides the skills they need to earn income as Certified Bike Mechanics. In a city like ours with 8.5 Million plus people, biking is quickly becoming a preferred mode of transportation. Biking helps lower-income communities with the ability to freely travel to and fro without worrying about paying for buses, cabs & trains. Traveling in NYC can be very expensive as train, bus & cab fairs are increasing every year.  As we know a dollar saved is a dollar earned.

Our youth will gain precious knowledge that will enhance their self-esteem and improve their self-perception. This will help them to truly understand how valuable they are to their community and it will encourage them to be productive contributors to our society. The two leaders of this program, Ron (Bike Shop owner) & Craig (Founder of Royal Light International) have a very long history of serving the youth in NYC with  Mentorship, Job Training (Bike Repair Classes, Video Production Classes, Music Production Classes (Beats N Blessings Music Academy), Photography Classes,  After-School Programs, Housing for Children in NYC's Foster Care Sytem, Spiritual Development and so much more. As residents of Saint Albans NY, Ron & Craig have been functioning as Fathers, Ministers & Community Leaders for 30 plus years. They have helped hundreds of youth to find their direction through the chaotic pressures of living in NYC.  Their interaction and training with these Youth, Young Adults, Volunteers and Junior Bike Mechanics is a tremendous asset for the youth in NY, who deal with the pressures of violent gangs & criminal activity.

The funds raised will not only go towards purchasing bikes which will be giving to the students who complete the program successfully, but the funds will also go towards providing future jobs for the graduating students who will be giving the ability to apply for positions as Junior Bike Mechanics in the Bike Shop at the St. Albans Mini Mall and other bike shops in the USA & abroad. These classes have been taught at the St. Albans Mini Mall over the years on a smaller scale sense 2009. Craig has now join forces with Ron to expand it's reach and impact on the lower-income communities of NYC. Currently, the Bike Shop already has some Jr. Bike Mechanics who assist with bike repairs for the customers who walk in every day.

At this moment there is no direct charity that funds this Bike Repair Class & Internship Program, this is why your funds & support is very much needed. Here's a short list of the expenses that are needed to help this program become a success. Tool Kits for each student, Bikes for all the students who successfully complete the class, funds to cover the cost of hiring new Jr. Mechanics year around and during the summer months, Literature, Promotional Tools, Flyers, Books, Bike Parts, T-Shirts, Food and Refreshments for Events (Classes, Class Orientations, Promotional Bike Events, Local Bike Rides etc).
