Bigraj's big trip to the UK
Donation protected
I first met Bigraj in 2018, when on a visit to Nepal to support a spinal unit in Kathmandu.
Being born in the Everest region and having started as a porter at the age of 15, to say he was comfortable in the mountains was an understatement. On top of this, we couldn’t have hoped for a more capable, diligent and compassionate person to be guiding us. During those 3 days we bonded and despite speaking almost no English he explained that he was proud to be a guide but he only earned enough to send money home but not actually travel home to see his family.
In 2019 we helped Bigraj set up his own trekking company and over the last 4 years he has grown it into a successful business that supports over ten families in his village with all of the profits staying in Nepal. And he now gets to see his family regularly.
We've been lucky enough to have now had many adventures in Nepal together but it has always been a dream of his to visit the UK. Having never left Nepal and with the costs involved he didnt think it would realistically ever happen so instead he would wonder at photos and videos i would show him of home.
Well - with the premier of the film happening at the end of August, which Bigraj plays a large part in, i felt we had to make this happen. He has shown us the magic of his country and now its time we show him ours.
We are covering Bigraj's flights but I have set up this fundraising page so that he can afford to have the full experience whilst he's here and not have to worry about the substantially more expensive western world.
Any support to help us show Bigraj the time of his life would be massively appreciated - he deserves it!
Thank you so much in advance.
