Having bathed in sunshine and bizarrely tropical temperatures since about May, our third Biggles Summer Party saw high winds with gusts up to 40mph. It was only thanks to the great efforts of our community (and two amazingly helpful security guards) that our main tents didn't buckle in the wind and collapse - or potentially just blow away entirely!
The Biggles Summer Party, held just outside Bath, brings together friends, families and local artists forging an ever-growing community under the Biggles banner. Biggles is based on the community we build around us, the support of our loyal community members and, as we saw at the Summer Party, the coming together and combined efforts of our community. And it is with this in mind we have launched this GoFundMe campaign.
Those of you who joined us for this year's Biggles Summer Party will know the 40mph wind wreaked a bit of havoc on the event and while we saw it through to Sunday night - albeit with a few amendments to the kitchen layout - our kitchen tent and a brand new Kids craft tent were irreparably damaged (a few images below tell the story).
Before this year's party our hope was to reinvest any profits to improve our infrastructure, particularly sorting out a more substantial tent or two.
Not only did the wind damage our main tents but the rain meant many of our guests left for home well before the party was over, reducing our opportunity for much-needed profit to reinvest.
As we're sure you understand this double whammy has hit our pocket and future plans in a big way.
We want to get back up and running with our next events and ultimately our next Summer Party, but in order for us to do this we are asking for contributions to get Biggles back on its feet.
We will work tirelessly to bring Biggles back and we would love for you to be part of the rise by contributing any amount to the Biggles funding campaign using the link below.
If you have any questions or requests for information before contributing please feel free to get in touch.
We thank you all for your support so far and hope you can continue to support Biggles in any way.
Stay Blessed, stay Biggles.
