Hey Y'all! This is Oakda from the Tiny Minotaur! For 2 years, we've led this self-funded pop-up malarkey Fantasy D&D-esque Theater project in a back alley in Austin, TX! And now we are ready to take it to the next level with a move to a building/large lot that needs some work to get up to code!
The new Tiny Minotaur Tavern will have the design quality (that you’ve seen in that Tiny Shack) of a full-sized movie-set-level immersive walk-through environment with both indoor and outdoor space! And since we love doing NEW THINGS, we are making this Tavern a private club!
Why a Private Club and not just a regular bar?
The Tiny Minotaur has always prided itself on maintaining quality play space with emotionally-invested, fantasy-minded individuals. A private club with members-only access will maintain that everyone coming into the Tavern will be vetted and well-informed of the rules of the space to ensure a level of safety and immersion. A subscription membership also means that the space will not be limited to those who are Questing! As a member, you’ll be able to access the Tavern whenever it is open—whether it is for a slurp of Grog or Swill (alone or with your mates), a dnd game with your crew or to simply have a few moments of reflection in a magical space. We’ll still have Quests (much cheaper) on the weekend and as a member you will have a guest pass to bring someone anytime you visit!
The Tiny Minotaur prides itself on being unlike any space in Austin and we want to keep it special!
What can I expect to see in the New Space?
- A fully realized movie-set quality indoor Tavern with a bar, npcs, and a special room that can be reserved for larger-scale private gaming* [*D&D, board games, etc].
- A Private, fully enclosed outdoor Labyrinthian Garden connected to the Main Space
- (less pricey) Tiny Minotaur Quests
- Your Favorite NPCs
- Outdoor wooden Kiosks available for private vendors [Leatherworks, Blacksmithing, Apothecary, Fantasy Clothing]
- Large-Scale LARPS
- Feast Days with local Chefs
- Event Space Rental (with Advance Notice)
- Workshops! (How to Larp, Costume-design, Foam-builds, Blacksmithing demos, Antique Instruments and Barding, herbology, etc)
We need your help to fully realize this space! This Gofundme will ensure that we can pay to get the building up to code and fully flesh it out to be a comfortable and magical experience!
