BIG TED'S LIFE CHANGING SURGERY

Tax deductible
Big Ted, a two year old, American Bulldog, was one of the hundreds of abandoned dogs of the Redlands, in Florida. He was found in July of 2017, roaming with a small terrier puppy. He was transported to Hair if the Dog Rescue, in Allentown Pa. His eyes were infected and very sore. He had painful ulcers in both eyes and extremely itchy skin. We started him on a new diet and his skin issues got better. His eye infections cleared up with antibiotics, but the soreness was still obvious. From August-October, Big Ted had tried a multitude of different kinds of drops and medications. Nothing seemed to resolve the issue. It was at that time that we learned that it’s possible that the wrinkles on Big Ted’s, Big Head, might be weighing down his eyelids. The vet slightly tacked his eyes (7 stitches total) to see it that helped. It did. After two weeks the stitches were removed and for a while, his eyes stayed open and he did vet well. But now, much to our dismay, Big Ted’s eyes are once again drooping, causing his eyes to become very sore. His eyelids are so heavy that he can barely hold them open. It is believed that Ted was born this way, and that he has never known what it’s like to live without this pain and burning. He has never been able to “see” the world, pain-free. Big Ted was found caring for a puppy, after being dumped in an area that is literally hell on earth. Back in August, I broke my foot. Big Ted rushed to my side and stayed with me until help arrived. Every time one of my children needs a hug, Big Ted is right there to give kisses. He is a caregiver. A guardian angel. He gives and gives without ever wanting anything in return. Big Ted loves everyone and has touched the hearts of all who meet him. Now, Big Ted needs our help. He requires a surgery, that will pull back the skin on his face and the skin around the eyes will be trimmed. Much like a human has a “facelift” or “eye tuck”. This surgery will immediately and permanently relieve the pressure on his eyes. His eyes will open, and he will see the world without pain and struggling for the first time. For Big Ted, this surgery will be life changing. We are a small rescue and our funds are limited. This surgery and misc. care is estimated around $1500. We Please help us, give Big Ted the quality of life he deserves.
