Big Shot's NYC Debut

Big Shot is an original award winning Irish Musical written by Lauryn Gaffney. The show has a full Irish band, cast and production team. It has played in the London Irish Arts Centre, San Diego International Fringe Festival, Mexico and in Dublin many times.
In recent months Lauryn Gaffney and team have been presented with an opportunity to bring Big Shot to New York City, where it will be seen and heard by people who can help bring her closer to her ambition of being the first female Irish composer-lyricist to have their work performed on Broadway.
The most recent production of Big Shot took place in February of this year at The Helix Theatre. For this performance, we invited Tony Award-winning Broadway producer Ken Davenport (Kinky Boots, Once On This Island) to critique the show and consult with us on the next step for our show. We are thrilled to report that Ken was so taken with the show and performance that he has invited us to perform the show in New York for five nights as part of his musical theatre festival ‘RAVE’.
We also secured a booking at landmark New York venue ‘Feinstein’s/54 Below’, where we will perform a programme of songs from the show and Lauryn's original music.
The performers involved in past productions of Big Shot include bona fide West End performers and highly sought-after stars of the Irish musical theatre scene. These people believe in the music and Lauryn’s potential as a composer strongly enough to perform in her show, and have jumped at the chance to be involved in our upcoming New York debut. This part she still has trouble believing. As lofty as her ambitions are, they would be still further out of reach without the commitment and talent of the gifted performers she has the privilege to call upon.
In previous productions of the show the management of travel and production costs has fallen entirely on Lauryn’s shoulders. (We have won awards for San Diego Fringe festival, Mexico we have flown to 5 nights in London and have various sell outs in Dublin.) For this production, we are arranging a number of fundraiser events to cover the costs associated with the trip. In order to achieve this, we are asking for you a donation to help make this trip happen.
