The Journey: Bradley and Anna

On January 26, 2015, my brother-in-law, Bradley Oates, was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer with metasasis to the lungs and the liver. Since then he has been on chemo and had four surgeries. Bradley continues to fight the disease with amazing courage and a great attitude. The doctors made the decision recently that surgery on the liver is the best option for him at this point. Bradley and Anna will be leaving for MD Anderson in Texas, where he will have the surgery. Surgery is scheduled for October 16th; he will remain in the hospital 5 days and in Houston for an additional 5 days following discharge. They will be there for several weeks and Bradley will be out of work until he heals.
I began my post with 2 definitions: help and love. Many of you have asked about helping Bradley and Anna, and SO many of you continue to love them through this journey. Most of the time love is easy to receive, but often help is not. Bradley and Anna are very blessed; however, help will make this next part of the journey easier as they will have living, travel and additional medical expenses. This is an opportunity to help and love!
Our family thanks you for your prayers and continued encouragement. We believe, "In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps."
