My name is Laurel Matousek on Sunday July 5th 2020 I took my brother Danny Ray Benter to Madison WI to the VA hospital to run tests to see if he qualifies for a heart transplant or maybe an L VAD wire.  We got some of the tests done before they decided to admit him on Tuesday for fluid overload.  I stayed till Saturday July 11 after I departed they continued to run more tests and are still trying to get the extra fluid off his body with kidney dialysis today Thursday July 23.  If he qualifies he will need someone with him during his time of recovery and our sister Sherry is happy to take on the honor of being there.  We are collecting funds for transportation, food, every day cost of living and rooms while on the road due to its a 11 hour trip to Danny's home in Rapid City SD.  Every bit helps makes this stressful time a little easier not being worried about money.  On Tuesday July 28 they are hoping to submit all of his tests to the board and make a decision.    I will update this page as soon as we know more!
