Today Dustin experienced firsthand how bad Toledo, Ohio is with people running red lights in traffic.
Attempting to turn left into a Walgreens parking lot, a gal stopped for traffic in the 1st lane (of a 6-lane road and intersection) waved that there was clearance for Dustin to turn into the parking lot; as he’s doing so a gentleman and his wife blow through the red light and hit our only vehicle while we’re here in Ohio.
Dustin was safe and not a scratch on him, but Big Betty on the other hand is pretty bumped and bruised, and missing most of her front end.
Sadly, we are going to incur unexpected costs for towing and impound of the car (mandatory, thanks Toledo), a days pay for each of us, rental car/ Uber costs, possible new tires, and a ridiculously high deductible for the repair to our car, though we’re pretty sure it’s not totaled. We are both essential workers but not prepared for such high costs right before the holidays and winter.
Our humble ask of our friends and family is if you can spare any extra funds this time of year, or would like to give an early Christmas present, we would be most appreciative of any generosity to help get Big Betty back on her wheels.
