Big Ben Bongs for Brexit

Brexit is happening at 11.00pm (midnight in Brussels) on 31st January 2020.
Whether you're one of the 17 million people that voted for Brexit or not, it's a historic event that should be marked.
It's been well publicised in the TV News that the cost of Big Ben striking to mark Brexit is £500,000 and this page has been set up to raise money for that purpose.
The average donation required per Brexit Voter (based on 17 million) is only about 3 pence but I would urge donors to contribute more if they can as we have very limited time to raise the money.
If we raise more than the amount required it will be put into a fund that will be used for the following purposes:
1. To help young people improve their life chances (e.g. funding training business start ups or social enterprise)
2. Assistance to clubs, schools, individuals and families who are directly adversely impacted by Brexit.
3. Projects that are designed to help local people take pride in Britain and their local community (e.g. restoring green spaces, investment in community facilities, commemoration of the achievements of current or past members of the local community where their achievements benefitted others).
