On December 9th, 2017 El Paso, Texas and the world lost a true shining star....BIG AL JONES.
Most of you remember Big Al & Courtney in the morning on KLAQ! Our years on the radio turned into a lifelong friendship. We had shared so many good times on the radio with all of our El Paso friends. Who remembers the Mega-Marriage? Swami Al? Marcus and his sports reports?! All the BalloonFests! There were mornings when Big Al had been out all night, so he thought it was best to drive to the station and sleep in his car....knowing I'd be pounding on the window to wake him up! As I look back, I never realized I was working with a legend! On top of the fun we had, he had a huge heart. He always tried to help his friends and others.
He also battled cancer and won. Thank you to the friends who helped him.
Big Al was special to many of us. There was nothing in his life that he was more proud of than his son, who he leaves behind. Please join me in honoring my friend, brother and hero Big Al Jones one last time. Funds from this page will go towards his final expenses and his son.
