Bibi Achhari Devi Eye Clinic

The Children of the impoverished areas of Hoshiapur lack access to preventative eye care and eye exams. Losing one’s vision is a devastating event and in many instances it can be preventable. Chaudhary Gurbachan Chand, who himself suffered early onset glaucoma that led to his vision loss, has taken it upon himself to begin aiding these children in need.

From his tireless work,  Chaudhary Gurbachan Chand established the Bibi Achhari Devi Charitable Eye Clinic on January 20, 2015 in a poverty stricken area of Hoshiapur. Chaudhary Gurbachan Chand named the clinic in memory of his late mother, who also suffered from vision impairment because of lack of eye treatment.

Within this eye clinic, the impoverished children will receive free eye exams, eye health education and treatment options from health care professionals. Access to eye health services  is a crucial necessity to protect the vision of the youth in rural Hoshiapur. It is up to us to protect the vision of the future.
