Bialystokers Helping Displaced Ukrainians

My name is Mark Halpern. I am an avid Genealogist with roots in Bialystok, Poland and in Ukraine. My mother's city of birth, Bialystok, is helping displaced Ukrainian residents by providing temporary apartments and the essentials for living.

A friend in the Bialystok area asked the Mayor of Bialystok, Tadusz Truskolaski, which charity in Bialystok to donate to. His answer was Fundacja Robert Alan. Their website is http://www.era-fundacja.pl/.

The funds will be collected through GoFundMe. I will arrange for all the funds to be transferred to Fundacja Rober Alan. They plan to take in refugees fleeing the war and place them in apartments in the city of Białystok. I will direct that our funds be used for this and only this purpose.

As Jews and members of the Bialystoker diaspora, we have a real opportunity to help our ancestral city help those in great need escaping the unprovoked War in Ukraine.
