The cost of cancer...

Cancer can cost your breasts, your hair, your mental acuity, your drive, your energy, your body image and so much more. It's ridiculous that on top of all of this cancer can also cost every penny in the bank.

I am overwhelmingly uncomfortable doing this. I've started this page and shut it down at least five times. I pride myself on being good with my money -saving, not building debt, being able to give to others- but the effects of cancer have recently taken this out of my hands.

A side effect of the chemo has created a medical issue that has depleated my savings (with a few more procedures still to come). The surgeon who I've had from the very beginning is now being covered as "out-of-network" for my upcoming reconstructive surgery despite many requests for "continuation of coverage." The amount of office visits I have to various doctors for the next couple of months average to about $100/week in copays.

I've added up what these costs will be and subtracted what I should be able to pay by living frugally and wisely. I plan to pay all of this forward in any way that I can, as soon as I can.
