Il y a trente ans, j’ai cofondé l’Association Libanaise de l’Hémophilie, une organisation que je chéris jusqu’à ce jour et que je soutiens dans cette campagne, par ces temps difficiles, depuis Montréal. Nous remercions la Fédération Mondiale de l’Hémophilie pour son assistance. La somme intégrale des dons sera versée à l'ALH à la fin de la campagne. Merci!
AIDEZ-NOUS A AMELIORER LA VIE DES JEUNES ATTEINTS D’HEMOPHILIE AU LIBAN
Cette année 2020 a été difficile pour tous, à travers le monde.
Mais pour nous, à l'Association libanaise de l'hémophilie, elle a été particulièrement pénible. Nous peinons à trouver les fonds nécessaires pour continuer à fournir nos services de haute qualité à nos 470 patients – dont 150 ont moins de 18 ans et 180 présentent des handicaps – et à leurs familles.
En 2020, nous avons dû annuler nos événements de collecte de fonds en raison des restrictions COVID-19. Nous avons eu du mal à obtenir des dons locaux en raison de la terrible crise financière que traverse notre pays. Nous avons vécu beaucoup de douleur, colère et désespoir à la suite de l'explosion dans le port de Beyrouth.
Et pourtant, malgré tous ces défis, nous nous efforçons toujours de soutenir nos patients et leur famille de la meilleure façon possible - tout comme nous le faisons depuis 30 ans.
Mais avec notre déficit financier actuel, nous ne savons pas combien de temps nous pourrons continuer à les soutenir.
C'est pourquoi nous nous tournons vers vous, pour obtenir votre solidarité et votre aide. Avec votre contribution, nous visons à collecter 26 000 Dollars Canadiens avant la fin Novembre 2020.
Cette somme nous aidera à ne pas interrompre nos services. Elle aidera, lors des trois prochains mois :
- 33 patients à faire 100 séances de physiothérapie dans notre centre spécialisé
- 150 patients et leurs familles à recevoir des conseils pour leur traitement médical
- 11 patients et leurs familles à apprendre l’auto-injection pour leur traitement à domicile
- 90 patients et leurs familles à continuer de recevoir une guidance psycho-sociale
- 67 patients à continuer de recevoir 450.000 UI de facteurs de coagulation.
Réussir à collecter cette somme nous donnera la sérénité nécessaire pour nous adapter à la nouvelle réalité et penser à de nouvelles façons de financer notre travail dans l’avenir, ainsi nous pourrons garder nos portes ouvertes aux jeunes atteints d’Hémophilie et des autres maladies hémorragiques héréditaires au Liban.

HELP US IMPROVE THE LIFE OF YOUTH WITH HEMOPHILIA IN LEBANON
This year 2020 has been difficult for all, across the world.
But for us, at the Lebanese Association for Hemophilia, it has been particularly challenging. We are struggling to find the funds we need to go on providing our high-quality services to our 470 patients - 150 of whom are under 18 and 180 have disabilities – and their families.
In 2020, we had to cancel our fundraising events due to COVID-19 restrictions. We had trouble receiving local donations because of the staggering financial crisis in our country. We have experienced pain, anger, and despair in the wake of the explosion in the Beirut port.
And yet, despite all these challenges, we are still striving to support our patients and their families the best way we can – just as we have been doing for the past 30 years.
But with our current financial shortfall, we are not sure how long we can keep supporting them.
This is why we are turning to you, seeking your solidarity and help.
With your contribution, we aim to raise 26 000 Canadians Dollars by the end of November 2020. This amount will allow us not to interrupt our services. It will help, in the next three months:
- 33 patients to do 100 physiotherapy sessions in our specialized center
- 150 patients and their families to receive guidance for medical treatment
- 11 patients and their families to be trained on self-injection for treatment at home
- 90 patients and their families to go on receiving psycho-social guidance
- 67 patients to go on receiving 450,000 IU of clotting factors for their treatment.
Securing our funding target will also give us the peace of mind we need to adapt to the new reality and to think about new ways to fund our work in the future so that we can keep our doors open to young people with hemophilia and other inherited bleeding disorders in our country.

The Lebanese Association for Hemophilia (LAH) is a non–profit organization founded by a group of volunteers in May 1992 in Beirut-Lebanon, known by decree 106/AD.
Its mission is to improve the medical, social, educational, and professional conditions of people with hemophilia. Furthermore, the LAH seeks to develop the patients’ abilities to manage their disease and to defend their rights.
In 2000, LAH created the only Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC) in Lebanon.
In 2002, the LAH expanded its activities to include all inherited bleeding disorders.
All LAH services are provided for the patients free of charge.
The Association doesn’t receive any financial support from the Lebanese Government.
The Association is managed by a directory board composed by 12 members including 6 hematologists, 2 patients, 2 parents, a nurse and a specialized social worker.
The LAH is a member of the World Federation of Hemophilia since 1992.
