Hassan Memorial Fundraiser

Donation protected
Your old friend Hassan is asking to "borrow" a dollar, one last time.

Everyone's favorite charming Beatnik squatter on Avenue C, Jerrold Heiserman, passed away on January 3rd, 2018. He was 77 years young.

With no instructions on what to do after death and no local family that could be found - the city was going to bury him in an unmarked potter's grave on an island you couldn't visit. This past week was a real scrambe to prevent that from happening but its a fight that has been won. His C-Squat family working alongside his blood family (many thanks to his sister Rebekah and his nephew Lance ) both wanted to ensure that he had a more appropriate farewell and have stopped the city's anonymous burial plans. However, getting him back and cremated will cost at least $1,600. In case of other additional expenses, we are looking to raise between $1,600 and $2,000.  Any left over can go towards the memorial.

We realize maybe he would tell us he didnt care what happened to his physical body but as a world traveller & story teller - those who knew him knew that he obviously left parts of his heart in the memories of those places and times that he would often tell us about. We'd like to see to it that a part of him gets back to some of those places and people - and no matter what kind of spiritual journey hes already on now , we know that he would think this plan was a little more groovy than what was in store for him as of last week.

So ... in an attempt to impersonate one of his staple catch phrases we would like to ask all his extended friends and family out there : "Say , you wouldnt happen to have a dollar, do you?" (Or a couple of them?) If you knew this guy and were charmed by him like we were, if you can donate btwn $1 and $100 - please do! I think he said that he'll pay you back next month, I swear! (But dont count on it....)

Lets bring Hassan home so we can celebrate his life & stories and send him off properly.
