New Ballet Folklorico Dance Group

I have loved Mexican Folklore dance since I was 9 years old. The music, the costumes, and the dancing got me through so many difficult times growing up. Folklorico was a true escape. As an adult, I have now returned to this beautiful art form and have decided to create a new group of my own in my new home city of Los Angeles. I want to pass down the tradition, the love, and the wonderful experiences that Ballet Folklorico has given to me to a new generation. I want to invite all people (regardless of age, size, race, or class) into the beautiful world of Mexican folkloric dance.  

With Hispanic Heritage month coming up, our humble group of dancers and I would be very appreciative of any donations that will help us build our collection of costumes that will enable us to transport our audience to the world we are trying to create. We have performances on the horizon and are in need of more costumes as our wonderful little group grows. Not every dancer can afford the expenses of this kind of dance, and I want to make sure money never stops any person or child from dancing.  

Every region of Mexico has a different style of dancing, a different outfit, a different sound. The catalog of Mexican folklore dances is so vast, and we (as a group) intend to explore all of it.

Some of the things we want to achieve in the next couple of months are:
- All New Costumes for a Northern Region Dance
- All New Costumes for a special Day of the Dead dance
- All New Headpieces for New Routines
- More dresses used for our current dances for new dancers that have recently joined our group
- T-shirts for our group
- More studio time to rehearse all the new regions currently being taught.

Help us pay homage to the ones who came before us. Help us spread the beauty of Mexico. Help us tell our story.
