Wanda and her family - husband Dan and sons Karsten and Weston - have been struggling with her cancer battle for over 15 years. The 3 different types of cancer have required continual treatments of one type or another; trying new cancer drugs when one would quit working; trying to pay the constant medical bills; enduring the mental anguish that this horrible illness brings with it.
About 2 months ago, Wanda began feeling really ill, and it was discovered that she had tumors in her liver. Radioactive seeding was done in 2 sessions at Marshfield Clinic. During the scans at Marshfield, they saw 5 liver tumors, some of which had grown larger in just 2 weeks.
Last week, the latest blow to this struggling family came when Dan was let go from his job, and it was through his employer that their insurance was carried. Wanda tries to keep going by cleaning houses, but she is not feeling up to it these days.
