Doug and Ellisa had the unimaginable happen. They went to visit family for Christmas in Fort Wayne only to return home to Cincinnati find their house busted into, ransacked, and nearly everything taken. TVs, guitars/gear, guns, laptop, desktop, toys, homeschool supplies, video games, etc. The Beyers are sure for several reasons the thieves and vandals are their (recent) next door neighbors. Needless to say, they’ve been spending their nights away from their house. They will never feel safe in that property again.
To add salt to the sting of the situation, their renters insurance very recently lapsed and just slipped through the cracks as being something they meant to handle and just forgot. But, the material possessions aren’t what they need right now. They need to get out of their lease. The landlord isn’t negotiating or letting them out of their lease that is up on May 1st. (Legally he doesn’t have to release them). The best solution they have is to reach out to you to raise money to enable them to get out of this property and reestablish themselves in a place where they can safely live. The anxiety and sleepless nights will pass over time, but much more quickly without a constant worry and reminder of the capabilities of the criminals 10 feet outside of their walls.
$4000 is the amount needed to release Doug, Ellisa, and their children from the lease. They’ve already found a safe property in another part of town and we can make it happen so they can move on from this whole mess.
Secondarily, if we raise more than $4000, Ellisa really needs the use of a laptop so she can homeschool Jonas. With materials missing and operating off of a cell phone, it’s painful to try and teach school. Anything will help them as they have to slowly rebuild their lives and find a new “normal” as their current routine was abruptly snatched from them.
