Samantha’s Medical Fund

Donation protected
Last Thursday, December 28th, 2017, my sister, Samantha, had a massive heart attack.

She actually had the presence of mind to ask her husband to get her an aspirin and call 911 because she realized what was happening.  She was able to chew the aspirin before she passed out and the ambulance showed up just as she lost consciousness.  She had to be defibrillated 9 times before they air lifted her to the hospital in Medford.  Once at the hospital, it was a dire situation as the doctors worked to try to put a stint into her left interior artery (the widow maker, as it’s called) and then having to go back in to have another procedure to remove fluid from her lungs, as she had also aspirated.

She is recovering faster than doctors expected and now is off the ventilator and most of the other machines and she’s even able to get up and walk a bit.  She still tires easily and has been getting horrible headaches, but that’s all to be expected.  She is very lucky to still be alive, as the doctors didn’t think she would survive.

Here is where we need your help.  She has a long recovery ahead of her and it’s likely that she will not be able to go back to work for quite a while.  Her husband, Scott, has not been able to work much since this happened and when Sam is released from the hospital, he will have to take care of her, which will limit his time working, as well, as most of the family lives in California or other areas of Oregon and cannot be around for long periods of time.  Also, even with having insurance, they are going to have a lot medical bills and this will put a massive strain on their finances.

Please donate what you can.  Anything helps.  We almost lost her and we don’t want them to lose anything else because of the mounting medical bills.  Thank you!
