We are Seaquam Secondary's Robotics team 9181B. We particpate in a worldwide STEM activity called VEX Robotics. Our team consists of Dawson Pasin, Michael Milic, Bradley Schellenberg, Josh Zindler, and Trevor Chow. Our dedicated teacher sponsor is Mr. Bryce Hamade.

Our school recently hosted the BC VEX Robotics Provincial Championship, in which our team was the Tournament Champion. We also won an award for the best Driving Skills. Of approximately 100 teams in BC, we are the top-ranking team, which qualifies us for the VEX Robotics World Championships taking place in Louisville, Kentucky from April 19-23, 2016. This is the first time that a Delta school has qualified to compete at this level. We very much need to raise funds in order to cover the long list of costs involved:  plane fares, accomodation, transportation of our robot, a travel case for our robot, team uniforms, and many new replacements for our tools and parts (batteries, motors, aluminum parts, etc.). Although we managed to pull off a spectacular win at the Provincials with the limited and worn out parts we had available, it will be difficult to be at our best at the Worlds if we are unable to upgrade many of our parts.

It would mean a lot to us to get the supplies we need and to help offset the manys costs of this trip so we can focus on representing the Delta School District and Seaquam Secondary with pride at a global level. We deeply appreciate any support shown. Thank you!

BCIT Tournament Update:

Our team recently returned from this year's A-Division Pacific Northwest Championship, and during this tournament we won the Tournament Finalist Award, and Judges Award. This event was hosted at the BCIT Burnaby campus, and is very well known for having high-scoring competitive robots from several provinces and states in the northwestern area. This event was a great warm up for the upcoming World Championships, and has assisted us in determining any minor details that will be improved upon.

During this event, a few teams were interviewed by CBC news reporters;  our team happened to be one of them! Click here to view the article on the CBC website.

Newspaper Updates:

Our team was recently featured in the Surrey Leader, and the Surrey Now newspapers (Wednesday, April 6th and Thursday, April 7th). Throughout the articles, Evan Seal (Surrey North Delta Leader) and Tom Zillich  (Surrey Now) explained how our robotics program works, as well as how a VEX Robotics competition works.
