Betty Power's Farewell

Donation protected
Hello,
My brother and I are deeply saddened by the loss of our mother Betty. On august 2nd she passed away suddenly. With a heavy heart, we started to make all the necessary arrangements. It was then when we learned, that the company that our mother prepaid to take care of all services was not going pay out the claim. They stated that we needed to pay more money but they had already closed out her account a year ago. (We never received any phone calls, letters or notifications of any kind) We filed a complaint with them and the Better Business Bureau. I am not here to slander anyone and we will consider further legal action. As for right now we are asking for any financial assistance you can spare. This was a sudden and devastating passing that even her doctors were not expecting. She had just been put on the transplant list and was feeling good about her chances when tragedy struck. This money will help with services and any other financial obligations that may come up within the coming months. We thank you for your thoughts, prayers and support. Anything you can spare will help even one dollar.
Please take a moment to read about her:
Our mother truly was an amazing person who found good in everything and everyone. She battled with Scleroderma for 17 years. Now mind you she was given 6 months in the beginning. Throughout her struggle she found strength in her family and friends. She had an innate ability to make friends with anyone. I would like to think that she raised two great kids and made us into who we are today. She had a goofy spirit and loved to help others. She worked in many different fields but she absolutely loved her role in the aviation industry. When our mother was first diagnosed she quickly learned everything about the disease. It was then, when she began to take an active role in the scleroderma foundation. Betty’s doctors have been amazing and had a special bond. Even though she was ill she still found a way to give back. She crocheted clothes for newborns and gave them to hospitals. Betty held support groups, meetings for people who shared in her struggle. She loved bringing people together and celebrating life. Seventeen years ago, she was told that she would need a double lung transplant. Over the years she has had her good days and bad days. There were times when they would take her off and on the transplant list due to fluctuating health reasons. In recent months, we were told that her wait would soon be over. They were placing her high on the list. She began the process to prepare herself. In 17 years she never lost hope for a better life. We were so happy that her struggle would be a little easier. In the past few weeks we were preparing her and ourselves to move in together to help ease the recovery process and be with her. But god had a different plan. Even in death our mother is still giving when she was taken to UCLA as in her wishes. She donated her organs to help the research for scleroderma. As much as we want to be selfish and want her here I know she is where she is needed. I and my brother know she will always be with us in spirit.

Michelle power will be in charge of the final expenses.
