<div>As a parent, you never ever want to leave the doctor’s office hearing the words, “There is NO HOPE for your child with AUTISM..”<br /><br />2002- 20 Years ago on that day, is when I took on the mission to prove that there is a HOPE for children with AUTISM and can thrive in this world!<br /><br />Today, individuals with autism have broken through the barriers to finding employment, getting college degrees, and working their way toward independent lives. 40% of individuals are nonverbal but some of them have managed to write books.<br /><br />Why there is a need for funding<br />There are still MANY challenges that need to be addressed and we at the Akhil Autism Foundation are seeking to revolutionize how autism is understood and ultimately treated.<br /><br />Each child with autism is truly unique and different in how they can be understood better. There are kids like my son Akhil, who are minimally verbal, yet have the capacity to take Calculus and writing courses at college. There are others, who struggle to communicate on a daily basis, not because there is anything wrong with them, but simply the right tools are not available to help them communicate.<br /><br />With all the technological innovations we have, I know there IS a way to bridge this gap.<br /><br /><br /><strong>What we will do with $150,000</strong><br />We are grateful to partner a topmost researcher with a leading University to run a 2-year pilot study that will involve 10 children and their parents to receive 40 FREE sessions that will aid in research using digital tools and sensor-based technology.<br /><br /><strong>The EYES are the window to the soul</strong><br />These sessions will combine Occupational Therapy methods with eye-gaze technology to create breakthroughs in treatment tracking and understanding of those with autism. <br /><br />The goal is to work with these 10 children, and lead the way to strengthen the communication with their parents as well as with the rest of the world so that they can grow up to be fully independent adults in a world where there’s little hope given to these beautiful souls!<br /><br />Your donations and thoughtfulness go a long way and we are truly appreciative for your contributions!<br /><br />Akhil Autism Foundation

They often have to use expensive tools, making this unaffordable for most families.<br /><br />What do we want to do?<br />Our vision is to Digitally Reform the treatment for Autism Spectrum Disorders from Diagnosis, Assessments to Data taking using sensors-based and personalized treatment plans, helping families choose the proper treatment. Conduct Research studies with Treatment clinics of different interventions and use sensors for tracking the progress.
